Steven Sanders has 30 years experience
in banking, business finance, financial analysis and business
consulting. His list of clients includes banks, mortgage companies,
doctors, dentists, developers, manufacturers and small business
entrepreneurs. Prior to Lotus, Quattro and Excel, he created a
BASIC financial spreadsheet, reviewed and approved by FDIC examiners
and used by several banks to analyze business credit worthiness.
He supervised the Small Business Administration (SBA) loan department
for a major regional bank and consulted in the set up of SBA loan
departments in two newly formed banks.
Sanders worked in the private
sector as banker and consultant. He worked as a business broker,
assisting buyers and sellers in analyzing and closing their transactions.
He assisted in the successful restructuring of many troubled businesses.
He owned his own business for over 18 years. Sanders also worked
in the public sector for the Portland Development Commission (redevelopment
agency for the city of Portland Oregon). The PDC was responsible
for recruiting new business and redeveloping decaying areas of
the city, using bonds, tax increment and tax credits to achieve
business goals.
Sanders is a board member on the
Council for the Homeless and the Clark Housing Review Board (which
finances affordable housing). He is a past chair of the Urban
Planning and Development Committee for the Long Beach Chamber
of Commerce and on the board of the Southern Cities Apartment
Association. He has been a Babe Ruth and Little League manager
and is a former college baseball player.
